As a physician leader on the forefront of healthcare, we've partnered with many of today's best primary care physicians. We're equipping them with the latest digital tools. Inspiring them with better practices and consistent results.Could this be you?The Senior Medical Director will be responsible for partnering with both local and enterprise physician leaders to ensure the clinical model consistently delivers improved patient outcomes and supports an exceptional patient and provider experience. This role will be expected to continually enhance and expand physician leadership capabilities to develop and support an aligned, mission-focused provider base. To deliver on this expectation, the Senior Medical Director will work closely with physicians to ensure training and education, governance, and additional development capabilities are optimized and focused on enabling physicians to deliver the best possible care for patients. Additionally, the Senior Medical Director will be responsible for external communication and support of the model, including educating prospective partners on the overall clinical value of the model. This role will be split 50% admin and 50% clinical hours.How you can make a differenceServe as a Senior Medical Directors for Village Medical in the Phoenix market, including the following responsibilities:Provide clinical oversight for Village Medical clinics and affiliates (clinics aligned with Director of Practice Operations), with accountability for clinical performanceSupervise other Medical Directors in their oversight of clinical performance for assigned clinicsPartner with Village Medical and risk-based operators in the market to lead providers in the implementation and execution of clinical programsIn partnership with operators, identify clinical variation and help providers reduce unnecessary variationParticipate in provider performance improvement and disciplinary actionsContinue to promote and build a physician led culture that enhances provider, care team, and patient satisfactionProvide support to our business development teams in Phoenix and other markets, including the following activities:Oversee the clinical onboarding of new providers in the Phoenix marketParticipate in the evaluation of prospective providers and groups in Phoenix and other markets as neededPartner with the business development team to support the recruitment of individual providers and groups across markets (a combination of virtual recruitment and occasional travel is anticipated)Host prospective groups from other markets as they conduct Village Medical site visitsSkills for successHigh emotional intelligence, the ability to forge meaningful relationships, and success navigating diverse stakeholder groupsA keen sense of personal accountability for delivering individual and team resultsExperience performing with a sense of urgency, attention to detail, and a commitment to doing what you say you will doMove quickly to mitigate barriers to success and deploy effective change management processes to maximize opportunities for improvementA core belief in a primary care led model and its potential for driving improved clinical outcomesComfortable being a hands-on leader with a track record of "rolling up your sleeves" to drive desired outcomesWillingness to dive into data despite experience levelExperience to drive changeStrong track record of fostering physician and operational stakeholder engagementDemonstrated ability driving clinical initiatives via a structured physician governance frameworkAbility to lead across a matrixed structure with both market and enterprise clinical leadersExperience building strong teams across multiple geographies and leading through influenceA metric-driven leader with a history of consistently delivering on- or above-plan performanceA hands-on leader with a player-coach mentality that is willing and able to provide "in the weeds" assistance to local teamsAbility to quickly gain credibility and establish the required relationships to influence and generate results; can quickly influence market partners to take actionMD/DO required with 10+ years of clinical practice experienceAbout Our Commitment Total Rewards at VillageMDOur team members are essential to our mission to reshape healthcare through the power of connection.
