OverviewThis position is contingent on contract award. This role will support the US Department of Veterans Affairs Critical Staffing Program. International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Family Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive medical care focusing on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of health issues. The physician serves as the first point of contact for patients, coordinating overall healthcare needs and fostering long-term relationships to promote optimal health and wellness.Key ResponsibilitiesEmploy principles of Primary care for management of acute and chronic conditions.Provide initial evaluation, treatment and management of minor wound care, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, burns, musculoskeletal trauma, dermatological illness, ENT, eye and urological problems.Provide initial evaluation and ongoing management of chronic diseases, such as coronary artery disease, atherovascular disease, Type I and II diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, PTSD, depression and other chronic medical and psychiatric conditions.Be present on time for scheduled tour of duty as documented by physical presence in Primary Care at the scheduled start time.Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.Provide notification of test results for patients in accordance with VHA Directive 1088, Communicating Test Results to Providers and Patients.Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by facility plete QM/PI documentation pertaining to all procedures, complications, and outcome of examinations.Document care given and select appropriate Evaluation and Management (E&M) procedure codes in the current electronic health record; documentation and coding functions to be completed by end of each patient encounter.Attend staff meetings as required by facility leadership.Follow all established patient safety and infection control standards of plete required organizational compliance education for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.QualificationsBasic Requirements/CertificationsCurrent, active, full, and unrestricted physician license from a U.S. state, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or territory.Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.EducationDoctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from a US or Canada accredited school.Board Certified/Board Eligible by the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.Physical RequirementsWork is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods; may require bending, stooping and lifting up to 25 lbs.Other Special QualificationsEnglish language proficiency for effective communication.US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.Pass/possess VA Public Trust Clearance.Additional information for final submissionResumeLicenseBoard CertificationDEANPIProof of Health RecordACLS/BLSBenefitsPay range is based on several factors and may vary in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
