OverviewThis position is responsible for assisting the Anesthesiologist in all departments and with all anesthesia procedures, including expediting patient flow through the perioperative area, maintaining patient safety, and supporting customer satisfaction among external (patient, surgeon) and internal (Anesthesiologist, staff) stakeholders. The role includes set up, operation and some maintenance of specialized equipment, including life support, and assisting in evaluation and monitoring of patients during the perioperative phase. Assistance in sterile or isolation areas and participation in call rotation for continuous Perioperative Support Technologists (PST) at night, on weekends, and holidays. PSTs must be ready to participate in the call schedule within six months or less.ResponsibilitiesAssist the Anesthesiologist in all departments and with all anesthesia procedures.Expedite patient flow through the perioperative area and maintain patient safety.Set up, operate, and perform some maintenance of specialized equipment, including life support.Assist in evaluation and monitoring of patients during the perioperative phase.Assist in sterile or isolation areas.Participate in call rotation for PSTs during nights, weekends, and holidays.Be ready to participate in the call schedule within six months or less.Required QualificationsCoursework/Training: Secondary education in a medical or science-based discipline.Within 90 days of hire: Washington Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification.Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association.Preferred QualificationsUpon hire: ACLS Provider - American Heart Association.Upon hire: PALS Provider - American Heart Association.Upon hire: Anesthesia Technician certification (ASATT).1 year of experience in a similar capacity in an Anesthesia Department in a tertiary healthcare facility.Why Join Providence?Our best-in-class benefits are designed to support you and your family in staying well, growing professionally, and achieving financial security.
