Job Description

Senior Clinical Perfusionists are essential members of the open-heart surgery team, operating primarily within the cardiac operating room. Collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, cardiologists, scientists, nurses, and operating department practitioners, they provide advanced technical expertise in cardiopulmonary support. Under supervision, they manage complex cases, including critically ill neonates and pediatrics, performing standard perfusion procedures and specialized techniques. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining cardiopulmonary bypass machines and ancillary equipment, participating in equipment evaluation, procurement, maintenance, and record-keeping, contributing to research programs involving experimental techniques and equipment, engaging in formal training programs and supporting patients throughout the hospital, beyond the operating room.
