Job Description

OverviewThe General Manager will have full P&L responsibility, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure the facility meets the highest standards in production quality, customer service, and safety. They will ensure full compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) regulations, including oversight of hazardous materials management, wastewater discharge, emissions, and worker safety protocols—critical to the sustainable success of the business. Beyond compliance and operations, the General Manager will serve as the cultural and strategic leader of the business, champion growth initiatives, modernize operations, and build a high-performance team that aligns with the company’s broader mission.ResponsibilitiesLead the Connecticut facility with full accountability for P&L, strategy, and operations.Drive revenue growth by strengthening customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring competitive service and quality.Oversee technical operations, including electroplating processes, production scheduling, maintenance, and supply chain.Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve throughput.Ensure strict compliance with EH&S regulations, building systems and processes to meet and exceed regulatory requirements.Build and mentor a strong leadership team, fostering accountability, safety, and professional growth.Partner closely with leadership on integration planning, capital investments, and long-term strategy.Serve as the face of the business with customers, regulators, and the community.What You Have DoneProven leadership experience as a General Manager, Plant Manager, or leadership role in manufacturing, coatings, specialty chemicals, or electroplating/surface finishing.Strong operational background with demonstrated success improving efficiency, quality, and profitability.Deep knowledge of EH&S compliance with a track record of managing inspections, audits, and permitting processes.Experience with private equity-backed or transformation-oriented businesses preferred.Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, chemistry, related field required; advanced degree or EH&S certifications highly desirable.Hands-on leadership style, with the ability to engage at both the strategic and shop-floor levels.Critical Success FactorsOperational Excellence: Strong command of manufacturing and process improvement.Business Development & Growth: Skilled at identifying new markets, expanding customer relationships, and driving top-line revenue.Regulatory Stewardship: Commitment to compliance and environmental sustainability.Strategic Growth Mindset: Ability to see beyond daily operations to unlock long-term value.People Leadership: Builds trust, motivates teams, and develops talent across the tegration Agility: Skilled at leading organizations through transition and change.Seniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionGeneral Business and Business DevelopmentIndustries: Manufacturing and Appliances, Electrical, and Electronics ManufacturingGeneral Manager ListingsNote: Nearby job listings and postings are included for reference but are not part of the role description. #J-18808-Ljbffr
