SummaryWorking as a Healthcare Laundry General Manager, you are responsible for the overall direction of the operations of a large industrial laundry facility.Key ResponsibilitiesDirection of the management of the areas of receiving, processing and delivery of healthcare linens to include company or customer owned goodsManages, develops, and trains staff to ensure processing of a quality productFiscal management of costs and expenses in the operation of a production facility; the ability to forecast expenses and budget and maintain the operations cost centersResponsible for the company assets to include engineering oversight and preventative maintenance programs; coordinates cost effective and efficient operations of the plant while ensuring a safe work environment for associates, management, vendors, and visitorsAbility to read and interpret a P&L statement to include budget responsibilitiesEnsures an active Plant Safety Committee; oversees the regulatory compliance for all required agencies; knowledgeable of HLAC, Hygienically Clean, OSHA, JACHAO and state & local requirementsSupporter and liaison with customers for all Joint Commission, Linen Review, and additional operating committee needs within the faculty and hospital groupAbility to attend, participate, and document laundry surveys for potential Core clientsDevelops annual budget and coordinates needs throughout the budget approval process with Regional Director of Operations and/or Vice President and Finance DepartmentAbility to develop and assist in growing new business within the facilityAbility to forecast business costings, improve profitability, and develop projects and investments for return on investment of new business opportunitiesManages capital expenditure projects; manages and coordinates installation and operation of new equipment through engineering department and vendorsDevelops succession planning for his/her position to include management development in order to successfully facilitate a corporate culture of growth and improvementQualificationsBS/BA in Management or equivalent work experience requiredAt least 10 years of operations/management experience; preferably laundry operations with large-scale plants in management or commercial fieldSpanish language skills a plusAbility to communicate effectively in written format and oral presentations particularly to the C-SuiteAbility to multi-task and establish prioritiesAbility to maintain organization in a changing environmentExhibits initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadershipProficient in the use of Windows based office software including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OutlookCore Linen Services is an equal opportunity employer.
