OverviewThe GM of Running is responsible for driving the growth, operations, and standardization of RunSquad nationwide. This role blends marketing, partnerships, technology coordination, and coach development to scale our running community and revenue. Unlike a traditional studio GM, this role manages the national running vertical - ensuring our systems, races, events, and coaches deliver a best-in-class experience.ResponsibilitiesGrowth & MarketingWork with the marketing team and affiliate partners to design and execute campaigns that drive lead generation and revenue growthDevelop a 12-month national race calendar, identifying relevant races and planning RunSquad marketing events around themCoordinate activations and brand presence at targeted races to maximize exposure and signupsCoordinate ‘new to running’ workshops and convert non-runners to running SquadsTechnology & CommunicationPartner with the internal technology team to ensure the RunSquad sorting platform functions seamlessly, supporting smooth squad formation and member experienceMonitor communication channels to ensure all GLM (group lead messages) are responded to within 12 hoursOnce RunSquad reaches 30 squads, a Virtual Assistant (VA) will be added to support this responsibilityWork cross-functionally to improve internal systems for communication, onboarding, and member supportCoach Development & StandardsLead the creation of the RunSquad Coaches Certificate, ensuring a consistent and credible credentialing processWork with the Director of Training & Education to recruit and source top coaching talent nationally, regardless of geographyTrain new coaches and ensure ongoing compliance with RunSquad standards, developed in collaboration with The Athletic Clubs' Head of TrainingBuild and reinforce a culture of accountability, community, and excellence across the coaching networkEnsure GMs conduct regular evaluations of Run Clubs to confirm member experience aligns with The Athletic Clubs' Run Coaching Principles and standards, and that timely feedback is delivered to Run Coaches/Captains for continued development and consistencyRun Clubs & ProgramsOversee the standard AC Run Club, ensuring each club has an appointed Captain to foster community and accountabilityManage and expand the Marathon Training Program, delivering consistent quality and results for members preparing for major racesProvide strategic and operational oversight of Stone 2 Stone, ensuring alignment with overall RunSquad growth and community impactKey Metrics for SuccessPrimaryRevenue Growth - Consistently meet or exceed monthly revenue targetsMember Retention - Maintain best practice minimums/targets, evaluated and set on a regular basisLabor % of Revenue - Maintain ≤ 20% averageSecondaryEffective launch and adoption of the RunSquad Coaches CertificateExpansion and successful execution of the national race calendarTimely and professional communication response rates (≤ 12 hours)Growth and engagement of Run Clubs, Marathon Training, and Stone 2 Stone initiativesRequirementsBachelor's degree in business or related field (preferred)Previous experience in an operations or revenue-driven leadership role (preferred)NASM-CPT or equivalent fitness certification (preferred)CPR, First Aid, and AED certifiedFull-time availability with flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidaysAbility to kneel, bend, reach, climb, stand for extended periods, and lift at least 30 lbsBenefits4 weeks of PTO/year with immediate accrual40 hours paid sick time401kHealth insuranceReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at The Athletic Clubs by 2xGet notified about new General Manager jobs in New York, NY.New York, NY #J-18808-Ljbffr
