OverviewTeach for America Program In-Person Tutor '25/'26HeyTutor has partnered with a school district in Washington DC and we are looking to hire math tutors who can assist elementary school students during and after regular school hours. You will be working with students between grades K-5. You will actively supervise students as you help them catch up from learning gaps developed over the past school year. You must be comfortable passing an in-person background check.ResponsibilitiesWork with groups of students (without the support of a teacher or school site staff)Prepare area to start tutoring sessionMay be responsible for picking up and dropping off students from designated areas in the school siteTake attendance and run lessons through the HeyTutor Dashboard (if applicable)Document student progress with the HeyTutor DashboardWhen requested by manager, facilitate students taking and completing baseline and summative assessmentsLead a group of students in tutoring sessions using curriculum and materials provided by the programCreate an engaging environment that fosters a sense of belonging for studentsSupport students in making positive behavior choicesEngage and interact with tutoring lessons alongside the studentsDaily clock in and out of Deputy for shiftsOther duties as required by the Company, your manager, and/or the School SiteRewards & BenefitsAttendance-Based Pay IncentivesVoluntary health care options, including Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and Accident Insurance (employee-paid)401KSchedule20 hours per week9:30 AM – 3:00 PM, Monday to ThursdayRequirementsMust have completed an AA or higher, or be currently enrolled in college/universityTutoring experience, especially with kidsComfortable working in a classroom settingClear FBI-DOJ background check (provided through HeyTutor)Pay$29–$32 per hour.
