This Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for leadership and mentorship of our Team Members, processes, and policies throughout our retail store. No previous hardware store knowledge is needed.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesOversees departments of 20-40 Team Members depending on Business Channel and scope of assignmentKey in the development of the future leaders of the organization, through training Team Members in policies, SOPs, product knowledge and other related job dutiesKey in understanding the voice of the customer to elevate the organization and resolve areas of opportunityAdvanced knowledge of products, software systems and operational procedures with the ability to coach and mentorAbility to move throughout the floor and departments, assisting all Team Members within the store as Manager on DutyResponsible for the opening and closing store dutiesKnowledge of sales reporting, labor report, margin erosion and managed laborResponsible for interviewing, hiring, and training new Team MembersPlanning, assigning, and directing daily workflow within Business ChannelPerformance management through review writing, rewarding and giving feedback to Team MembersEducation and ExperienceAdvanced education or training from college or university, with 5+ years in a retail environment or equivalent combination of education and/or experienceMinimum mid-level management background with exceptional supervisory skillsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesExperience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)Microsoft D365 experience is preferredAbility to lead, develop and grow a teamDevelop and maintain strong cross-functional relationshipsExcellent organizational and communication skillsAbility to follow through issues to resolutionLocation/HoursThis is an exempt position located at a Friedman’s Home Improvement retail store. Hours are to meet the needs of the retail business, Sunday – Saturday.
