Based in Rancho Mirage, CA, you will be the heartbeat of the retreat, leading a passionate team in hospitality and wellness excellence to nourish guests physically and emotionally.Location: Rancho Mirage, CANote: No longer accepting applications? If applicable, this section can be updated by the recruiter.Position OverviewThe General Manager is the onsite leader of the retreat, responsible for its overall success, including guest and employee satisfaction, profitability, owner relations, operational excellence, and team development. This role requires strong leadership, a passion for exceptional guest experiences, and solid business acumen. The General Manager works with the on-property Leadership Team and the Corporate Guidance Team to achieve strategic goals and ensure smooth operation.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership and ManagementDevelop, implement and execute strategic goals aligned with the retreat mission and company goalsCreate an operating environment that delivers consistent excellence in guest, employee, and owner satisfactionOversee Finance, People Operations, Golf Course Maintenance, Engineering, F&B and Rooms Operations, Sales/Events, Nobu partnership and Golf Course ConsultantMaintain product and service quality standards by analyzing guest satisfaction data and correcting opportunitiesRecruit, hire, train, manage performance, and foster a positive work environment across all departmentsDrive revenue growth and profitability through budgets, financial planning, and revenue managementLead weekly revenue and staff meetings to assess performance and adjust strategiesCollaborate with sales and marketing to develop campaigns and promotionsBe an ambassador for the property in the local communityGuest SatisfactionEnsure superior guest satisfaction by maintaining high service and quality standardsAddress guest complaints promptly, implementing effective service recoveryMonitor online reputation and respond to reviews timelyInspect guest rooms, public areas and grounds for cleanliness and functionalityImplement training to enhance customer service and related skillsDevelop relationships with ownership to address owner requests with care and urgencyFinancial PerformanceMonitor financial performance through analysis of reports, identify variances, and adjust as neededOversee financial and purchasing processesCollaborate with ownership reps and asset managementEducate team members to think like ownersPeople Operations PerformanceEstablish proactive HR to motivate, train, administer wages/benefits, and ensure compliance with laws and policiesMaintain open-door communication across departmentsProperty Maintenance and SafetyOversee maintenance and upkeep, preventative programs and renovationsEnsure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulationsImplement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impactDemonstrate leadership, uphold company values, and communicate objectives to internal and external stakeholdersOther duties as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made for disabilities.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in administration, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience acceptableMinimum of 5 years of experience in hotel management, preferably at the General Manager levelWellness experienceLuxury hotel/hospitality experience requiredRequired Technical / Other SkillsStrong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse teamProven track record of improving guest satisfaction and achieving financial targetsProficiency in hotel management software and systems (PMS, Opera, Microsoft Office, yield management, etc.)Strong financial acumen, including revenue optimization and budgetingExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressureAbout SenseiFounded by Dr. David Agus and Larry Ellison, Sensei aims to empower guests to grow well and lead toward wellbeing, with experiential movement, rest, nourishment classes, and technology-supported programs.
