OverviewThe Director of Business Development oversees large national accounts and national sales programs for the Company's products and services. Ensures growth and expansion by developing new business while also maintaining existing accounts and increasing business based on approved budgetary requirements.ResponsibilitiesProspects and qualifies new customers to maintain a target list of not less than 25 qualified pipeline opportunitiesProvides input to management to respond to changing market conditions, to improve internal efficiency and maximize resultsMaintains strong professional relationships with existing customers, including participating in regular customer business reviewsAnticipates or identifies evolving customer needsAssists in overseas campaigns and overseas visitors" requirementsSupports and assists in the attainment of company goals and objectives aligned with the Hellmann Sales StrategyEnsures all bids are submitted in a timely manner to Tender Management for proper completionPrepares client quotations and presentation of proposalsMaintains client records and commercial activity with complete and timely entry of information into the Hellmann customer relationship management (CRM) systemUpdates CRM with activities as per company guidelinesManages approximately 25 target customersTravels as requiredServes as liaison between customer and operational staffPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Logistics/Supply Chain, or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirementPossess a minimum of 10 years related experience in sales, marketing, and customer serviceProven track record of increasing sales year over yearPossess a minimum six years sales experience in freight forwardingProficient knowledge of all Hellmann products, and Partner networkKnowledge, Skills & AttributesFinancial acumen – understands business development strategyResults-oriented – drives strategy and executionLeadership – demonstrates professionalismCustomer-focusedOrganization skillsTime management and prioritizationAdaptable / flexible to high-pressured environmentProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Email, and InternetAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as pricing, rate quotes, and other detailsAnalytical skills / problem-solving abilityAdvanced sales, negotiation and presentation skillsAdvanced communication skills to effectively present information and respond to sensitive inquiriesProficient in world geography, import/export documentation, and IncotermsPhysical DemandsFrequently required to stand, and walkRegularly required to sit for extended periodsRegularly uses arms to reach, hands and fingers for computer and phone useSpeaking clearly and listening for heavy phone contactRequires close-up and computer screen distance vision abilityRequires occasional overnight travelReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EEO StatementInclusion and social diversity are firmly anchored values in our corporate culture.
