Employment Type: Full-timeAbout Special Mine Services, Inc. (SMS):Special Mine Services, Inc. (SMS) is a U.S.-based diverse business model across four locations that is 100% Employee Owned (ESOP). The Mining Sales & Service Sector is well established with customers in the tri-state region. The FWM sector is well established with our current customer base and holds significant potential for expansion. The manufacture of SMS Connectors is established as well, with continued development into global markets providing limitless possibilities for expansion. As we enter new phases of growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced President & CEO to lead the company forward with strategic vision, operational excellence, and a commitment to customer satisfaction.Position OverviewThe President will be responsible for setting and executing strategic initiatives that align with the ESOP business expectations. This leader will drive operational efficiencies and expand SMS’s Connector manufacturing in both domestic and international markets. This leader will oversee all key business functions—manufacturing, operations, supply chain, engineering, and sales—while fostering a performance-driven culture rooted in safety, innovation, and responsiveness. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the President will be instrumental in cultivating distributor and customer relationships, maintaining our industry reputation, and positioning the business for long-term success.Key ResponsibilitiesThe President must understand the ESOP and its effect on the operational strategy of the company.Develop long-term strategic and operational plans to guide SMS’s General Managers through next stages of growth.Maintain a high level of safety awareness across all operations, with a hands-on, visible leadership style.Negotiate Collective Bargaining Units with input from the management team and with an understanding of future ramifications of agreement concessions.Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or Manufacturing preferred. Consideration will be given for extensive, work-related history.Experience:Experience in an ESOP company is preferred but not required10–15 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing environmentsStrong background in OEM operations, custom manufacturing, or industrial productsKnowledge of international and multi-site operations within an ERP/MES environmentVisionary leadership with a focus on execution and resultsExceptional communication and influencing skills across all organizational levelsStrategic thinker with a hands-on, approachable leadership styleDemonstrated success driving a culture of safety and accountabilityProficient in software such as ERP platformsBenefitsSalary Range: Starting $150,000 (commensurate with experience)Medical, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-paid life, AD&D, short-term disability coverageESOP RetirementPaid time off and 9 paid holidays annuallyHow to ApplyInterested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to:Company Website: #J-18808-Ljbffr
