The General Manager will be responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences, managing staff, maintaining financial performance, and upholding the resort’s reputation as a top-tier marina and leisure facility. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong business acumen, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the marina and resort, including boat rentals, docking services, lodging, dining facilities, and recreational activities.Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a diverse team, including marina staff, hospitality personnel, maintenance crews, and administrative support, fostering a positive and productive work environment.Guest Experience: Ensure high standards of customer service, addressing guest inquiries, complaints, and needs promptly to maintain satisfaction and encourage repeat business.Financial Performance: Develop and manage budgets, monitor revenue and expenses, and implement strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining quality standards.Facility Maintenance: Oversee the upkeep of marina docks, boats, resort accommodations, and grounds, coordinating with maintenance teams to ensure safety and functionality.Marketing & Business Development: Collaborate with marketing teams to promote Shady Cove Marina and Resort through local partnerships, events, and digital channels to attract new guests and retain loyal pliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations, including boating safety standards, environmental guidelines, and workplace ventory Management: Monitor and maintain inventory levels for marina supplies, food and beverage services, and retail munity Engagement: Represent the resort in the Castalian Springs community, building relationships with local businesses, tourism boards, and vendors.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field (preferred but not required).Minimum of 5 years of management experience, ideally in a marina, resort, or hospitality setting.Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.Strong financial literacy, including budgeting, forecasting, and profit optimization.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests, staff, and stakeholders.Knowledge of marina operations, boating, or water-based recreation is a plus.Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, especially during peak seasons.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software; familiarity with reservation systems is an advantage.Physical ability to perform site inspections and assist with operational tasks as needed.Preferred SkillsExperience in event planning or coordinating group bookings.Understanding of Tennessee boating laws and regulations.Passion for outdoor recreation and waterfront lifestyles.BenefitsCompetitive salary with performance-based incentives.Health, dental, and vision insurance options.Paid time off401K with Company matchAbout Shady Cove Marina And ResortNestled along the scenic shores of Castalian Springs, TN, Shady Cove Marina and Resort offers a unique blend of relaxation and adventure.
