OverviewThe Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA) is seeking a Sr. Technical Product Manager to contribute to NEEA’s strategic goal of filling the energy efficiency pipeline. The role identifies and validates new energy-efficient products, practices, technology and services in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires planning across the full lifecycle of products and coordinating with testing labs, industry experts, engineering firms, and other market partners to support analysis, testing, and deployment in market transformation efforts. The role involves researching emerging technologies to bring energy savings to Northwest consumers and may require travel up to 15–20% of the time. The position is based in the Portland, OR metro area with hybrid work and onsite requirements.NEEA is an Equal Opportunity Employer and welcomes candidates from diverse backgrounds and experiences.ResponsibilitiesScan the market for new energy efficiency products, practices or services and screen opportunities for inclusion and prioritization within NEEA’s portfolio of emerging technologies.Define and evolve the product plan for each assigned product/service/practice throughout the product lifecycle.Advocate for end users, the supply chain, and utility partners; become an expert on their needs.Evolve product strategy in response to market conditions and monitor products after intervention ends.Provide ongoing product guidance and support to Market Transformation Managers, Program Managers, external contractors and others to ensure consistent definition and implementation of market transformation objectives.Support Codes and Standards Engineers in recommending test method changes for state and federal standards development.Coordinate with state, national and international organizations to update test methods and performance specifications for greater efficiency and fitness for use.Contribute to market strategies and design of full-scale market transformation efforts in collaboration with regional stakeholders under program management.Build and maintain relationships with manufacturers and market actors to connect product development with market channels.Partner with utilities and regional collaborators to ensure coordinated and valuable product development and market transformation efforts.Create a shared sense of purpose across NEEA, especially with program teams, and assist in establishing processes, budgets, schedules, contracts, work plans, and risk management.Collaborate within team settings, leveraging functional strengths of teammates and relying on specialists for market research when needed.Manage contracts and contractor work for testing, pilots, and in-field demonstrations, including creating RFPs and handling crises related to new technologies.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities over NEEA staff but may supervise and manage contractors, providing leadership and guidance to teams and contractors as needed.What Are You Good At?A top-performing Senior Product Manager at NEEA is strategic and innovative, consistently advancing high-potential energy-efficient technologies through the full product lifecycle, with deep market insight and technical acumen, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes to align product strategies with regional energy goals.Your Experience, Education, and SkillsMust Haves:BA or BS degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business or related field required.7–12 years of experience with increasing responsibility, preferably in new product development/introduction and/or strategic product market management.Experience in product strategy development, including market assessment, forecasting, risk assessment and management strategy.Demonstrated complex project management experience.Demonstrated experience with collaborative leadership and facilitation.Adaptability to pivot short- and long-term goals and bring teams along.Ability to extract product and market trends from independent information resources.Knowledge of business models, drivers, and trends with user empathy for product value delivery.Expert at identifying research needs to answer questions about relevant markets.Strong interpersonal and judgment skills to influence internal and external teams and meet deadlines; experience in large cross-functional/matrix environments.Experience identifying and resolving complex problems through data gathering, synthesis, and analysis.Ability to learn from field implementation failures and develop mitigation plans and stakeholder communications, including utilities and building owners.Willingness and ability to travel regionally 15–20% of the time.Nice to Have:Knowledge of energy efficiency, market transformation methodologies, electric utility business and operations, and Northwest energy markets.An equivalent combination of education, experience and training will be considered.Employment Details: Employment Type: Full Time; Years Experience: 5–10 years; Salary: $105,000 – $120,000 Annual; Bonus/Commission: No.NotesFinalists must have eligibility to work in the US as NEEA cannot provide visa sponsorship or remote work outside the US. #J-18808-Ljbffr
