This role's primary responsibility is overseeing all staff, budgets, and operations of the local business unit, while formulating the overall growth strategy and implementing best practices adhering to the Wisper Way. The General Manager must be a thoughtful leader, a confident decision-maker, and a guide to ensure excellent customer service. (Think of this role as the "Mayor" of the local business unit.)Essential Job FunctionsOversee day-to-day operationsBuild excellent working relationships with communities, staff, industry peers, vendors, contractors, & supportersDesign strategy & set goals for growthMaintain budgets & optimize expensesDrive sales goals for the areaSet & follow established policies & processes utilizing The Wisper WayEnsure employees work productively & develop professionallyOversee recruitment & training of new employeesEvaluate & improve operations & financial performanceDirect the employee assessment processPrepare regular reports for leadershipEnsure staff follows health & safety regulationsProvide solutions to issues (e.g., profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)Other duties as directedJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent4+ years of knowledge of installation & maintenance in wireless industry or similar field is preferred2+ years' experience with ISP, telecom, cable or wireless industry2+ years working knowledge of computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, SalesCRM programs2+ years' experience in administering processes & policies related to safety, attendance, performance work rules & code of conduct2+ years' experience with communication systems & tools2+ years' experience providing training, feedback & motivation to employeesLegally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status, now or in the futureMust pass a background check, MVR & drug screenDesired Skills & Competencies2+ years' experience leading P&L is preferredStrong organizational, time management & results-driven leadership skillsProven experience as a General Manager or similar leadership roleAbility to create a motivating positive environment while instilling a culture of accountabilityExperience in planning & budgetingStrong interpersonal, presentation & communication skillsProblem-solving aptitudeBusiness acumen with results-driven focusCustomer & client focusAbility to build strong relationships in local communitiesExceptional planning, coordination, & execution skills, with confidence working in a high-pace, rapidly changing environment without concrete definitionAbility to negotiate, influence, manage & drive actionWorking ConditionsFast-paced environment with multiple changes to schedules & fluctuating prioritiesWork primarily inside an office at a desk or within a warehouse setting, but may include outdoors in all weather conditionsA pre-employment background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen are required.
