Join to apply for the School Principal role at California Montessori ProjectThe California Montessori Project is looking for a student-focused leader for one of our schools in the Fair Oaks area.About UsCalifornia Montessori Project is a public, tuition-free, TK-8, charter school network in the Greater Sacramento Area. We have over 2,800 students at our six schools, which are authorized by the four school districts in which they geographically reside.The California Montessori Project provides a Montessori curriculum, integrated with the California state standards, to provide hands-on education in a child-focused format. Our classrooms are multi-grade, have small class sizes (averaging 24 students per class), and most have both a lead teacher and a teaching assistant. We encourage peer-to-peer collaborations, small-group learning, and independence.Job Description:The Principal is a site-based position and directly reports to the Superintendent and supervises all site operations in accordance with School policies.Duties related to Superintendent:Advises the Superintendent on the need for new and/or revised policies and makes policy recommendations based on data and input from staff and advisory committees.Submits to the Superintendent recommendations relative to all matters requiring Superintendent action, together with the materials needed for informed decisions.Reports periodically on all school operations.Conducts special studies requested by the Superintendent.Submits staff members’ communications to the Superintendent, with or without recommendations.Duties related to Staff:Coordinates the work of all school educators and volunteer staff.Assigns personnel within the school in accordance with School policy.Directs the employment and assignment of staff and coordinates staff activities.Selects and recommends to the Human Resources Department the best qualified and most competent candidates for employment in accordance with nondiscrimination policy and alternative action plan.Develops and maintains an effective campus through collaborating with the Human Resources Department on the selection, training, motivation, termination, and review of all personnel.Duties related to Students and the Educational Program:Enforces compulsory attendance laws. Supervise attendance procedures and daily teacher/student ratios.Coordinate substitute teachers for classes as needed.Continuously observes the instructional program in schools and provides the Superintendent with regular evaluations of school programs and student progress.Apply knowledge of the Montessori method, materials, and equipment used.Duties related to Non-instructional Operations:Assign staff members appropriate operational procedures regarding school upkeep to include all common areas.Maintains and updates adequate census and scholastic records, business and property records, and personnel records.Submits to the Superintendent periodic financial and budgetary reports which identify the school’s outstanding obligations and future needs.Requirements/Qualifications:Certifications: California Teaching Credential and Montessori Certificate from an accredited Montessori Teacher Training Center.Preferable: Administrative Credential.Minimum two years elementary and/or middle school education experience required.Prior administrative experience in educational field required.Pay Range: $100,000 - $136,477 per year #J-18808-Ljbffr
