OverviewStore leadership role overseeing customer service, front-end operations, and overall store performance at Walgreens. Responsible for supervising customer service associates and designated hitters, supporting the Store Manager, and ensuring merchandising, asset protection, and profitability.ResponsibilitiesEngage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer complaints promptly and model customer service best practices.Monitor customer service, provide coaching and training, develop improvement plans for front-end and pharmacy, and empower team members to find effective resolutions that build loyalty.Improve overall customer service metrics.Supervise store operation and team members, assign daily activities, delegate tasks, manage opening/closing/shifts, approve time records, and address scheduling conflicts to ensure proper coverage.Collaborate with external partners to drive store initiatives and identify community outreach opportunities.Support Store Manager in leveraging data and team input to make fact-based decisions and monitor impact.Oversee store cash management, including register counts, bank withdrawals, armored car pickups, safe deposits, and change orders.Supervise front-end and pharmacy inventory, complete resets/revisions and price changes; analyze inventory trends and train staff on inventory procedures.Ensure operational feedback from Store Manager and District Manager is executed through delegation and supervision.Maintain a clean and presentable store interior and exterior; manage repairs, maintenance, and emergencies.Ensure team members are proficient with computer and technology systems.Prioritize safety and well-being of team members; coordinate with Security Operations Center as ply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to laws and regulations, including sale of alcohol, tobacco, fresh food, and pharmacy plete special assignments as needed.Full Store Operation & Performance ManagementAnalyze financial and performance data independently; create action plans to achieve business deliverables.Use operating statements and KPIs to engage the team, drive solutions, and identify sales opportunities; support growth and performance through initiatives as directed.Support Pharmacy during busy periods, including serving as a pharmacy technician when necessary.People & Performance ManagementLead and train team members; provide mentoring, coaching, and development support; manage discipline and performance management decisions.Assign responsibilities, develop performance plans, set goals, observe performance, and provide feedback and recognition.Acquire and retain talent, build pipelines, and ensure a diverse pipeline of future leaders; plan staffing needs and participate in hiring decisions.Ensure proper procedures for recruitment, record retention, and training per company policy and laws.Establish an accountability culture with clear expectations, performance improvement plans, and constructive discipline.Training & Personal DevelopmentComplete Store Manager learning and development programs and required courses, certifications, and training as assigned.Monitor own performance, seek feedback, maintain an Individual Development Plan.Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy technician license as required by municationsCommunicate regularly with team members through one-on-one discussions and group meetings; respond to questions or concerns promptly.Assist Store Manager in planning and communicating company and store strategy.QualificationsBachelor’s degree or satisfactory completion of Walgreens Community Internship Program, or High School Diploma/GED with two years in a supervisory role.Demonstrated leadership, professional ethics, self-motivation, strong communication skills, and business pletion of Store Manager training program (LEAP) or willingness to complete Walgreens Leadership Essentials within 12 weeks of start date (for individuals placed in ESM role on or after June 1, 2021).Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).Willingness to work flexible schedules, including evenings and weekends; willingness to relocate if promoted to Store Manager; ability to transfer to other Walgreens retail assets within the same hiring area.Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s Degree; internal candidates: management experience across front-end and pharmacy; external candidates: business majors with prior retail or food industry experience.We will consider employment of qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.An Equal Opportunity Employer, including disability/veterans.This information is provided to promote pay transparency and equal employment opportunities at Walgreens.
