Job Description

OverviewThe General Manager is responsible for ensuring successful dealership operations including sales, service, financial profitability, team development, and increasing community relations and MarineMax market share.ResponsibilitiesEnthusiastically embrace the MarineMax values and mission statement, effectively conveying these to all team members through your example.Supervise interviewing, hiring, training and developing team members; plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems.Consult with Human Resources to ensure all requirements are met before taking any employment actions.Keep the team highly capable by working with Human Resources to manage changes as needed.Assist staff with the sales effort, including explaining features, demonstrating boat operation, and suggesting optional equipment to customers and prospects.Manage deals in accordance with the MarineMax One Price strategy and adhere to commission guidelines as they apply to One Price.Collaborate with the Regional President to prevent aging of inventory, both new and used.Maintain an acceptable FANS score by meeting customer needs and delivering a quality product.Ensure dealership profitability by maintaining adequate staff, conducting financial analysis, managing SG&A, achieving sales goals, and ensuring customer satisfaction.Resolve customer complaints or concerns and modify processes to prevent recurrence.Analyze financial statements, identify areas for improvement, and communicate recommendations to the Regional President.Recommend or approve budgets, expenditures, and appropriations; analyze operating and administrative procedures to increase efficiency and productivity.Work with the Products Department and Regional President to manage inventory.Lead professional development through leadership and training programs; utilize the Individual Development Plan (IDP) and HR resources for team development.Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policy making; assist in annual commitments and forecasting; oversee product ordering, production review, distribution and invoicing, and inventory improvement.Coordinate, execute and attend boat shows and other off-site promotional opportunities.Strategic planning of marketing efforts to maximize market share results.Oversee facility management and compliance with local, state and national regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).Promote and participate in the MarineMax Safety Program to maintain a safe municate market trends, customer attitudes, competitive intelligence, and the needs of sales and service operations upward.Perform other duties as assigned.Key Result AreasProfitability of the dealershipFANS scoresAged inventory managementSales marginsSG&A managementLeadership, staff training/motivation, and topgradingSafety recordsEffective resolution of customer issuesTimeliness and accuracy of paperworkEffectiveness of cost controlsEnhanced customer relationsCompliance with E-Verify requirementsSeniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustriesRetailReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at MarineMax.
