OverviewThe US Director, Payor & Access Strategy Lead, Medical Affairs (PASL) is responsible for regional Field Medical strategy, training, and prioritization of the Value & Implementation plan for USMA Health Systems. The DPASL for health systems is a key member of US Medical Affairs, US Regional Medical Affairs Teams, US Value Teams, and Field Leadership teams. The role drives US HS strategic excellence and optimizes Field Team readiness in support of clinical and pharmacoeconomic scientific exchange aligned to Global V&I plan priorities. This is a regionally based position (US) in the company’s Research and Development division.Responsibilities and Primary ActivitiesDirect, coordinate, implement, control, and execute Health Systems (HS) strategy while aligning to global medical and commercial strategy, commitments, and goals. Lead the US HS integrated Field Medical (FM) plan process in collaboration with the US HS Executive Director, US HS Senior PASL, US HS Team Leads, and Global Scientific Content - Health Systems team members.Possess relevant medical affairs and FM or clinical experience to guide and direct FM HS strategy in alignment with organizational priorities and unmet needs.Collect, analyze, and communicate scientific insights from US HS Medical Affairs Director field engagements to inform company strategies across R&D, Value & Implementation, GMSA and Outcomes Research, and Commercial; develop listening priorities and update quarterly.Serve as US Health Systems interface between GMSA, Commercial, and other HQ functions and the US HS MAD field team.Identify and prioritize US HS field resources, training needs, and activities across the portfolio, in collaboration with GSC-HS directors, to optimize HS MAD field team readiness.Collaborate with key stakeholders to define/implement strategic congress priorities for US HS and coordinate planning of HS MAD activities at key scientific congresses.Continuously scan the healthcare environment and quality landscape to analyze emerging trends in the therapeutic and competitive landscape, including market access, to optimize US Field HS Team capabilities.Represent USMA HS, in partnership with GMSA, in Expert Input Forums or Advisory Boards, as needed.Required Qualifications, Skills, & ExperienceMinimumAdvanced healthcare/science degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD)5+ years of prior pharmaceutical industry experience, preferably Field Medical experience or equivalent biotech/pharmaceutical/Medical Affairs strategy experienceOR 5+ years of experience in quality/managed care with demonstrated scientific acumen OR equivalentDemonstrated ability to create and implement a strategic roadmapExcellent interpersonal, communication, networking, and results-oriented project management skillsThorough knowledge of clinical medicine, US healthcare delivery system, pharmaco-economics, population health management, quality management, value-based payment, and healthcare policy/trendsAbility to work effectively in a complex, matrixed environment, promoting inclusion, trust, and respectAbility to network and partner with internal and external stakeholders including cross-functional teams, scientific leaders, and key decision makersKnowledge of national and society treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations, and privacy/ethics laws (e.g., HIPAA, OIG) relevant to the pharmaceutical industryPreferredExperience leading complex projects with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentFormal training in pharmaco-economics/outcomes research#EligibleforERPCurrent Employees apply HERE (URL removed for refinement)Current Contingent Workers apply HERE (URL removed for refinement)Additional InformationUS and Puerto Rico Residents Only: Our company is committed to inclusion.
