Provides strategic financial leadership and ensures the division's financial sustainability.ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Develops and oversees long-term financial plans aligned with Athletic Department goalsLeads budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting whilst advising on strategic decisions and resource allocationManages daily financial operations of the Athletics division, including payroll, procurement, and travelOversees preparation of mandated financial reports to include annual EADA, NCAAA and USG reportsSupports revenue generation through strategic direction and planning areas such as partnerships, fundraising and media rightsOversees capital project financing, facility planning, debt service monitoring and capital budgetsOversees all athletics contracts (service, game, and others) to ensure fulfillment, payouts, and complianceWorks closely with University leadership, legal and finance to ensure alignmentRepresents Athletics in institutional planning and external financial reportingEvaluates current business models and leads efforts to modify or redesign business models as necessaryInnovates the use of technology and increase the overall level of business intelligence throughout the organizationEffectively communicates with conference peers, conference office, NCAA office, and CFP and/or bowl or other group to properly manage associated budget related detailsBuilds, leads, and motivates a high-performing teamSupervises assigned staff, including performance managementServe as a Program administrator for assigned sport(s)Required QualificationsEducational RequirementsBachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.Required ExperienceEight (8) years of financial leadership roles, preferably in the nonprofit sector or Athletics to include previous supervisory or management experience.Preferred QualificationsAdditional Preferred QualificationsCertified Public Accountant (CPA)Preferred Educational QualificationsAdvanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related fieldAbilitiesKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAble to foster and cultivate business opportunities and partnershipsAble to create and assess financial statements and budget documentsAble to recognize and be responsive to the needs of all clients of the organization, including funding organizations, the Board of Directors, local community advocates, participants, and employersKennesaw State University is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
