We are a group of experienced industry professionals with a background in operations who are serial transaction advisers, which enables us to bring a wealth of deep sector and functional knowledge to our clients. As a team, we prepare and execute separation and integration plans, identify ideas and sources of value enhancement, as well as advise on risk mitigation and the successful change of operations, functions and people.Your Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Director in Deal Management - Health, you will be a vital member of the team managing and executing projects focused on transaction strategy, transaction execution and partnership development, all occurring within the Health sector. This includes work with health systems, payer organizations, health care services organizations, large companies with specific needs in health care, health-focused government entities and other organizations with needs specific to the strategy or execution of organic and inorganic health care programs. Your role will also involve developing experience across the M&A lifecycle including pre-sign, sign-to-close and post-closing.Skills And Attributes For SuccessLeadership – a willingness to take a point of view and defend it with a rationale, be the first person to recommend a hypothesis or fort in ambiguity - go into unfamiliar situations with an ability to bring structure and results to the process.Business and Commercially Driven – working in a fast-paced, exciting environment with strong business acumen to drive value to our clients.Agile, flexible, results-oriented mindset – working in a dynamic space requires rapid response and action with new or changing information that is presented.Business Development – assist in aspects of pursuits, including presentations and client dustry Knowledge – give the unique, complex and mission-focused nature of the health care ecosystem, knowledge of the business model, operating model and regulatory environment are considered critical.Learning – Learn and develop technical and personal skills to support achievement of career goals.Building Relationships – Strong working relationships with EY team members and client executives, including influence, insight, advice and support to key decision makers.Analytical capabilities – knowledge of how to synthesize large amounts of data, develop hypotheses, test those hypotheses and use them to facilitate conversations with client executives.Project Management – be part of project teams comprising colleagues from across the Strategy & Transactions sub service lines.Entrepreneurial spirit – a fearlessness to do new or different things; helping our Health Clients think creatively about their business and operating models.To qualify for the role, you must haveA bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or Healthcare related field and 5 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 3 years of related work experience.MBA or MHA graduate degrees are preferred.Significant management consulting experience.Deep knowledge of the health care industry, most specifically in one or more of the following sectors: health care providers, health plans/risk sharing and/or ancillary/service health businesses.Experience related to mergers and/or acquisitions transactions, with specific Health sector M&A experience strongly preferred.Excellent analytical skills and the confidence to translate complex data into meaningful insights.Experience in business integrations, divestitures, and/or carve-outs with a demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.Experience leading and managing in complex business environments.The ability to make detailed assessments of technology, operations or manufacturing infrastructure.The ability to synthesize approaches to complex integration/divestiture conflicts.The ability to prioritize effectively on projects and the skills to adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts.Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally.The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary.Ideally, you'll also haveA proven record of excellence in a mergers or acquisitions transactions role.Experience gained within another large professional services organization.Established knowledge and skills in the Health industry.Reputation as a leader and high-functioning networker.Knowledge of how to leverage AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.What We Offer YouAt EY, we’ll develop you with future-focused skills and equip you with world-class experiences.
