They coordinate care with onsite medical staff and ensure compliance with documentation and clinical protocols. The role includes overseeing psychiatric nurses, supporting transfers, and assisting with civil commitments when necessary. Psychiatrists also participate in medical review committees and deliver consultations to facility staff.
