Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles. Position Overview:The Planner representative plays a key role in ensuring production readiness by managing critical supplier relationships and driving the on-time delivery of materials. This role focuses on resolving supply chain challenges, overseeing procurement activities, and supporting cross-functional teams to maintain smooth operations in an engineer-to-order manufacturing environment. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.What your day-to-day will look like:Ensure the continuous supply of required materials and promptly communicate any supply issues that could impact business operationsContact suppliers to resolve pricing discrepancies, delivery delays, or invoice-related concernsInvestigate and reconcile past due invoicesLead cross-functional purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning, sourcing, and engineering teams to address complex material supply challengesEnsure adherence to company guidelines, purchasing policies, and proceduresProactively identify potential material shortages and implement mitigation strategies to reduce supply chain risksTo thrive in this role, you have:3+ years of experience in a supply chain or procurement role within an engineer-to-order manufacturing environmentAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelWorking knowledge of MRP systems; SAP experience preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong interpersonal abilitiesA bachelor’s degree in a related field such as supply chain, business, manufacturing, or industrial engineering - or 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degreeStrong negotiation skillsAnalytical mindset with proven numerical aptitude and problem-solving capabilitiesA tenacious and assertive approach to driving results, including escalation within supplier organizations and internally when neededDemonstrated ability to build and maintain effective, productive relationships with key stakeholders and suppliersWhy you'll love working for Siemens!11 paid holidays, 18 days of PTO401K - 6% company matchFreedom and healthy work-life balance- Health, Dental, Vision Insurance, HSA/FSA, Commuter Benefits - starting Day 1!Solve the world's most significant problems - Be part of exciting and innovative projects.Engaging, challenging, and fast evolving, pioneering technological environment.Competitive total rewards package.Opportunities to contribute your innovative ideas and get paid for them!
