OverviewPhysician- Physiatrist (PM&R) role at Rehabilitation Hospital of Kyle, TX. The position is with PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Kyle.ResponsibilitiesReport to the Regional Chief Medical Officer for clinical matters and the Hospital Chief Executive Officer or designee for administrative matters.Provide professional medical services on a full-time basis to patients of the assigned hospital(s). Such services include those ordinarily performed by physicians in physical and rehabilitation medicine, including rounding and consultations on patients.Collaborate with the Facility’s leadership, staff, and other practitioners and consultants to develop, implement and evaluate patient care policies and procedures that reflect current standards of practice.Identify, evaluate and address/resolve medical and clinical concerns and issues affecting patient care, medical care or quality of life related to the provision of services by physicians and other licensed health care practitioners.Evaluation, diagnosis, consultation and management of patients with physical and/or cognitive impairment and disability, including diagnosis and treatment of painful or functionally limiting conditions, management of co-morbidities and co-impairments, diagnostic and therapeutic injection procedures, electro-diagnostic medicine, with emphasis on preventing complications of disability from secondary conditions. Include assessment, stabilization and disposition of patients with emergent conditions in accordance with Medical Staff Policy; privileges also include neuromuscular and musculoskeletal examinations and development of diagnostic plans, treatment prescriptions, and supervision of medical and rehabilitation goals and treatment plans. Admit to inpatient or other level of care as needed and perform related H&P and Plan of Care activities.Provide prompt, courteous and competent professional services in accordance with generally accepted professional standards.Administrative responsibilities may reasonably be required.Maintain complete and accurate medical and other records in compliance with regulatory, legal and/or accrediting standards, including PAS, IPOC, leading the interdisciplinary team conference, progress notes with face-to-face visits, admission orders, IRF-PAI and related records, reports and correspondence for services rendered.QualificationsPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Training: Must possess MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Must hold current state medical license. Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Current certification or active participation in the examination process leading to certification by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is preferred.Experience: Prior experience as Medical Director/leadership preferred.
