OverviewJob Title: Principal Consultant – Utilities Civil LitigationLocation: Washington, DC, Marlborough, MA, or remoteConcentric Energy Advisors, Inc. We are looking for a Principal Consultant – Utilities Civil Litigation to provide strategic direction, manage client relationships, and oversee complex litigation within the utilities sector. This position can be based in Washington, DC; Marlborough, MA; or remotely across the United States.ResponsibilitiesProvide expert guidance and strategic support to clients in the utility sector facing civil litigation and other legal challengesAnalyze complex legal issues, develop case strategies, and offer insights to help clients navigate legal proceedingsConduct in-depth legal research and analysis related to utilities facing civil litigation mattersOversee, manage, and execute deliverables for client engagement projects for utilities and other client typesDevelop and implement effective case strategies to achieve favorable outcomesCollaborate with attorneys, legal teams, and other experts to strengthen client deliverables and outcomesProvide expert witness testimony and analysis when requiredStay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting utilities litigationBuild and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and communicationIdentify and pursue new business opportunities within the utilities sectorEvaluate the performance of existing offerings and recommend adjustments to optimize consulting market shareParticipate in networking events, conferences, and industry associations to promote the firm’s servicesMentor and coach junior consultants, providing guidance for professional growthRequirementsBachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Economics, Math, Finance, Business Administration, Law/Legal, or Political ScienceJuris Doctor (JD), Master’s Degree, MBA or PhD preferred10+ years’ experience in the energy utility space, in a consulting firm, utility, public utilities commission, Big 4 accounting firm, energy-focused law firm, or similarProven ability to generate consulting services sales and lead business development tasksExperience leading ideation, design, and implementation of new service offeringsExperience writing or providing expert witness testimony for utility rate cases or regulatory proceedingsStrong communication and presentation skills, including Microsoft OfficeAbility to present complex ideas and strategies to utility leadershipOccasional travel to client sites and regulatory hearings, typically throughout the US and CanadaWhat We OfferBase salary typically starting at $200,000 plus annual incentive compensation bonus.
