Job Title: Physical Therapist Profession: Rehabilitation Therapy Specialty: Physical Therapist Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Must hold a license as a Physical Therapist in the relevant state Certifications: Maintain and update PT skills and certifications as necessary Must-Have: - Ability to make independent decisions regarding patient care - Familiarity with patient billing policies - Proficiency in DX and ICD-10 coding Description: This position involves implementing patient rehabilitation programs to help improve patient mobility, function, and strength. The physical therapist will evaluate and treat patients for physical therapy and rehabilitation programs. Utilization of Electronic Medical Records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries for patient files is required. The role includes guiding and monitoring patient care in all aspects of treatment and follow-up. Supervision of PT Assistants and Aides regarding all aspects of patient care is necessary. Communication with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure quality patient care is essential. The physical therapist will be responsible for accurate patient chart documentation and following up on prescriptions, test results, authorizations, etc. Ensuring that patients are comfortable and addressing their questions is expected. Collaboration with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up is required. Computer skills necessary to complete job requirements include typing, word processing, internet use, and EMR proficiency. Candidates must be able to lift 50 pounds and assist with patient mobility and transferring safely. This position is physically demanding, including prolonged sitting, walking, and standing for up to 10 hours based on the patient care schedule. Supervisory responsibilities will include overseeing PT Assistants and Aides in patient care. Compliance with patient privacy policies and HIPAA regulations is mandatory. Active participation in privacy training and proper communication of privacy policy information is expected. The work environment will be within an outpatient rehabilitation setting, requiring constant alertness for patient safety.
