With a population of 4,630, it is the county seat of Madison County and sits at the intersection of I-45, SH 21, and SH 75, making it a midpoint between Dallas, Houston, and Austin. Madisonville is a Type A General Law city governed by a Mayor and five Council Members. The City Council appoints a professional City Manager to oversee day-to-day operations and implement policies. The ideal candidate will be a visionary and approachable leader with experience managing a growing community. They should have strong expertise in municipal finance, infrastructure planning, and grant management, paired with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Required qualifications include: * Bachelor's degree in public administration, political science, business, finance, or related field * Minimum of eight years in municipal government, with at least three years in a department director, Assistant City Manager, or City Manager role. * Strong financial management and budgeting skills * Residency within Madison County Preferred qualifications include: * Master's in Public Administration * Three to five years in an executive municipal leadership role * ICMA-CM or Certified Public Manager credential highly desired * Experience in grant writing/administration, strategic planning, community development, and team leadership The City of Madisonville offers a salary of $175,000 to $190,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
