The Developer Tooling team empowers Scribd engineers across the software development lifecycle. We build and evolve the tools and frameworks that power engineering workflows, modernize infrastructure, optimize build and deployment processes, and continuously expand development capabilities. What You’ll Do Create and maintain internal libraries, components, and utilities used by Scribd engineers Improve AWS infrastructure, including application networking and traffic routing, using Terraform Build, maintain, and improve tools and frameworks that streamline development workflows, modernize tooling, optimize build processes, and enhance development capabilities Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams to identify bottlenecks and implement solutions that increase efficiency and productivity Key Attributes 4+ years of professional experience as a software engineer Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills Curiosity-driven with a growth mindset Comfortable navigating DevOps workflows and modern cloud infrastructure Experience We Value Developer tooling CLIs Infrastructure as code and cloud automation experience, including AWS and Terraform Application networking, traffic routing, CDN configuration, and caching strategies Observability, performance profiling, and optimization What Sets You Apart A passion for improving developer experience and productivity A thoughtful approach to platform engineering that balances stability, speed, and simplicity Compensation At Scribd, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. The salary ranges are based on local benchmarks for each role, level, and geographic location. California: $126,000 to $196,000; United States (outside California): $103,500 to $186,500; Canada: $131,500 CAD to $174,500 CAD. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. Higher or lower ranges may apply for different levels.
