OverviewJoin to apply for the Senior Structural Engineer - Hydropower Lead role at Kleinschmidt Associates.Kleinschmidt has a full-time opening for a Senior Structural Engineer-Hydropower Lead in either our Portland, Oregon or Redmond, Washington offices to develop hydropower engineering work in the region and support projects across Kleinschmidt. We also welcome candidates based in the West Coast region, with a particular emphasis on those located in California. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allow us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment.Salary: $115,000 - $185,000/year (based on experience)ResponsibilitiesDevelop hydropower engineering work and manage large multi-disciplinary project teams in the western United States.Mentor and develop staff; coordinate multidiscipline designs with hydrology/hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers.Coordinate with clients and contractors during planning and construction; manage projects and client relationships.Support business development and client management activities related to hydropower projects.QualificationsLicensed Professional Engineer with a BS in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 15 years of hydropower engineering experience, including business development, client management, and project management.Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to structural engineering; experience with analysis and design of concrete and steel structures in and around water (concrete dams, gates, spillways, penstocks, powerhouse structures).Experience coordinating multidisciplinary designs with hydrology/hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical teams; field experience with clients and contractors preferred.Excellent problem-solving, oral and written communication skills; ability to manage projects and clients and mentor junior staff.Project management experience on large, multi-discipline, complex projects; ability to work with senior leaders and project teams to provide practical solutions for renewable energy, water, and environmental challenges.Additional RequirementsMust possess permanent authorization to work in the United States.Must be willing to travel and possess a valid driver's license.About The PositionThis position involves designing and managing hydroelectric and fisheries-related facilities, incorporating civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic engineering.
