OverviewAs the Senior Manager in OCI for Datacenter Software Engineering, you will provide leadership to a dedicated team tasked with overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of infrastructure projects within OCI. Your role will involve ensuring that the team's objectives are aligned with broader organizational goals, maintaining a strategic focus on long-term infrastructure stability and scalability. You will mentor and develop team members, creating an environment that encourages continuous learning and professional growth. You will also play a pivotal role in talent development, lead by example in identifying and nurturing talent, engage in regular career development discussions, and provide strategic guidance to support the professional growth of each team member.Your performance management approach will establish clear, measurable goals for both individuals and the team, ensure alignment with OCI’s strategy, and implement robust processes to monitor progress, assess performance, and maintain accountability at all levels. This role focuses on delivering tangible outcomes that contribute to OCI’s critical infrastructure initiatives. ResponsibilitiesLead software engineering within the data center infrastructure delivery organization. Apply knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks, including developing, debugging, or designing software applications, operating systems, and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest fluence decisions that affect the team and related OCI groups; contribute to the success of OCI’s critical infrastructure projects and the resilience and growth of OCI’s Datacenter critical Automation initiatives. QualificationsA BS or MS degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.A minimum of 5 years of experience in people management, with a proven track record in managing large-scale critical services.Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, resource management, and performance optimization within a technology-driven environment.Exceptional decision-making abilities, with experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams.Strong background in recruiting, developing, and leading senior individual contributors and building high-performing teams.Ability to make decisions that significantly impact the organization’s infrastructure, with potential implications for revenue and long-term operational success.Experience in Datacenter/IaaS Software Engineering.Demonstrated Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms).Proficient in Java or Python; experience building highly available services, service-oriented design patterns, and service-to-service communication protocols.Experience with production operations and best practices for delivering quality code to production and leading engineers to solve related challenges.Effective communication of technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams, presentations).Experience managing a large-scale critical service in a cloud computing environment.Expertise in distributed systems and cloud-native environments.Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Range and benefit information provided are specific to the stated locations. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $107,100 - $251,600 per year.
