Positions, moves, and assists patients to ensure accurate imaging results. This role performs clerical duties and provides basic patient care within the scope of practice and departmental standards.Key Responsibilities:Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems.Educates patients about the exam and complete all exams in a timely manner, maintaining workflow and minimizing empty table time.Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.Practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams.Performs high-quality CT examinations in accordance with provider orders and departmental protocols, ensuring optimal image quality for accurate diagnosis.Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications.Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions.Positions patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices when necessary, while ensuring radiation safety and ALARA principles are maintained.Collaborates with radiologists and other healthcare providers to ensure appropriate imaging and continuity of patient care.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:High School Grad or Equiv RequiredAssociate PreferredBachelor's PreferredOne or more years Work Experience PreferredAbility to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgroundsKnowledge of CT proceduresKnowledge of CT scannersAbility to learn and grow with new technologyCT Safety including radiation protectionGeneral computer skills and PACSBasic IV competencyGeneral physics and anatomyAs required, performs waived and non-waived Point of Care Testing, ensuring approved competency and documented proof at the time of training.American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RequiredBasic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) RequiredCertified Radiologic Tech (CR-TECH) PreferredMedical Radiation Technology - IEMA (MRT-IEMA) PreferredMedical Radiologic Tech (MRT) PreferredLic Radiology Technologist (LRT-TECH) PreferredUChicago Medicine AdventHealth Great Lakes is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
