Material Planning Controller

Starting Salary: £27, 000 per annum (with opportunities to progress up pay grades).Hours: 38.5 hours per week.Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pmFriday: 7:00am – 1:30pmLocation: Stockton-on-Tees, TS20 2BH.Contract Type: Full-time, permanent.SummaryWe are looking for a Material Planning Controller to work within a highly skilled dynamic environment in the precision fabrication and multi-plate processing industry. The Material Planning Controller will work alongside an experienced planning team to learn how to forecast material stock requirements and maintain stock levels for production part processes. In joining our team you will have the opportunity to develop your skill-set allowing you the opportunity to get involved in stimulating and exciting projects.What we offer:25 days holiday per year plus 8 statutory bank holidays.Development based pay reviews.Mental health & wellbeing support through our EAP (employee assistance programme).Company pension scheme.Cycle to work scheme.Bi-annual attendance bonus.Free snacks.We welcome applications if you have:A proactive work ethic.A flexible approach to job rotation.A willingness and ability to work individually as well as within a team based environment.A safety conscious attitude.Enthusiastic attitude towards training and development.Effective two-way communication.You must be eligible to work in the UK and provide proof.We operate a zero tolerance policy towards substance and alcohol misuse in the workplace.Key Responsibility:Effective forecasting of material requirement for the business and procurement thereofEnsure that Material stock levels within MRP system are maintained.Co-ordinate and manage deliveries of material to site ensuring receipt of such material is processed within MRP system.Monitor inventory level of material on site and with suppliers to ensure it is maintained according to business targets.Monitor and maintain inventory of remnant material.Identification and management of obsolete materialMaintain contact with suppliers on a regular basis, via face to face, telephone and electronic communication and participate in supplier audits in conjunction with Quality representative.Problem solving for sudden changes to schedules or requirements.Calculation and maintenance of planned material inventory levels and buffer stock.Working collaboratively with other departments to share best practice and to manage internal supply chainsIdentify opportunities for business improvements within the organisation.Any ad-hoc duties as required from time to time by the Production Planning & Commercial Manager or other members of the management team.Qualifications and experience:Previous industrial experience would be beneficial but not essential.CAD experience would be beneficial but not essential.Full training will be given in this role as it is an entry level training role.
