Read further to learn how you could help make great things possible not only in your community, but around the the role of High Speed Rail Planning Lead, we'll count on you to:Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large multidiscipline transportation planning and environmental compliance projectsPrepare, plan and analyze compliance documentsEstablish client relations and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetingsDirect work of others in completion of required studies, documents and reportsDemonstrate extensive public participation, agency coordination, planning and programming experienceParticipate in design development and contract document work sessions in conjunction with appropriate technical professionals and other disciplinesCoordinate staffing and workload through entire project development to complete documents on schedulePerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications10-15 years planning for transit capital projectsExperience evaluating alternatives for capital projects based on many competing characteristics including but not limited to ridership forecasting, environmental constraints and impacts, community input and using technical feasibility to compare options.Experience in informing effective engagement strategiesExperience with planning during NEPA/ CEAA environmental reviewExperience working with agencies having jurisdiction (AHJ) on projects in planning (cities, counties, state agencies, regulatory agencies, etc).Experience collaborating across disciplines (Ex: Environment, planning, engineering, operations) on complex projects.Experience with green field route identification for passenger rail projects, or similar experience; not planning on a host railroadExperience with pre-NEPA planning and scopingExperience/familiarity with FRA, capital projects in Canada or Portland, OregonRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Planning, Engineering or a related fieldA minimum of 10 years' experience with transportation planningPossess excellent analytical and communication skillsUnderstanding of transit planning principlesPositive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a teamDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and personnelSolid business development skills; demonstrated ability to relate well to clients; and demonstrated presentation skillsAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustWhat We BelieveHDR is our company.
