In this role, you’ll lead complex survey projects, guide technical delivery, and support the professional growth of staff. You’ll join a collaborative group committed to high-quality service and technical innovation.DEA operates its Survey and Geomatics team as a revenue-generating business line and invests in modern tools, including GPS, terrestrial and mobile 3D scanning, and hydrographic survey systems. You’ll have access to cutting-edge resources and a steady pipeline of diverse, impactful projects.About the RoleAs Survey Project Manager, you will oversee project scopes, schedules, and budgets for a wide range of services including boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, and construction surveys. You’ll serve as a mentor to junior team members while also coordinating with internal and external partners to ensure exceptional project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesManage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and client expectationsPerform and review boundary calculations and topographic survey dataOversee quality control for drawings, plats, ALTA maps, and construction staking calculationsGuide and support survey crews and office staff, promoting professional developmentLead proposal writing and collaborate on project pursuitsEnsure compliance with DEA processes for project accounting, documentation, and qualityCoordinate with the Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to align staffing and project commitmentsCollaborate with DEA’s engineering and planning teams to support integrated project deliveryWhat You BringLand Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification8 or more years of experience in land surveyingProven ability to manage projects and mentor technical staffStrong communication and client interaction skillsProficiency in Civil 3D and general understanding of engineering plan setsPreferred QualificationsProfessional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in WashingtonFamiliarity with state and county mapping standardsExperience with Trimble Business CenterWhy DEA?DEA’s Survey and Geomatics team is built on a foundation of technical rigor, modern tools, and a collaborative spirit.
