The specific schedule will be determined by the manager based on business needs. Candidates for this position are expected to live within a reasonable daily commuting distance.SUMMARYThe Director of Business Continuity plays a critical role in leading the organization’s resilience efforts. This director is responsible for shaping the continuity strategy, collaborating across departments to ensure alignment, and performing ongoing risk assessment. The Director of Business Continuity protects critical information and assets of the company, improving monitoring and situational awareness.The ideal candidate should possess strategic agility, an analytical and data-driven approach to complex business planning and cybersecurity concepts. An effective communicator, the Director will use strong leadership and domain expertise to ensure business operations continue uninterrupted and that the organization is prepared for potential obstacles.The impact of the Director of Business Continuity is to ensure the company thrives despite evolving business, cybersecurity, and risk landscapes.All employees are expected to protect the information and assets of the organization through heightened awareness of information security, cybersecurity, and risk management best practices, and to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.Essentials DutiesOversee the development, documentation, maintenance, and communication of business continuity procedures, collaborating with stakeholders at all levels.Develop and oversee an enterprise-wide training program for business continuity, including disaster recovery principles, strategies, and best practices.Oversee the business continuity plan review, maintenance and testing across all business units, including a change management process.Stay informed of current threats including cyber threats and best practices to minimize risks to the organization.Act as a subject matter expert, collaborating with departments on the creation and revision of business continuity risk assessments.Partner with internal and external stakeholders in evaluating, testing, and assessing the use of technology to support business continuity goals including cybersecurity objectives.Provide input and assistance in the development and implementation of risk management policies when appropriate.Direct and participate in the management of an incident, including analysis of cyber incidents and assisting in recovery of operations as needed.Build and manage the business continuity program budget, conducting regular audits to ensure departmental compliance with budgetary constraints.Ensure company-wide adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and policies including FFIEC guidelines.Review and develop reporting on applicable business continuity activities, testing and other initiatives for management, board of directors, auditors, and other stakeholders.Assume responsibility for additional projects and tasks as assigned.Education & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.Familiarity with end-to-end banking operations.Demonstrable history of work in core enterprise applications, data processing functions, and inherent risks.Experience in business continuity planning or emergency management planning.Minimum RequirementsProficient knowledge of core enterprise applications including business intelligence, CRM, and ERP.Working knowledge of FFIEC business continuity guidelines and related FFIEC guidance.Familiarity with data processing functions (data inventory, mapping, categorization, purpose identification).Proficient knowledge of inherent risks related to data processing including privacy, security vulnerabilities, and compliance considerations.Strong decision-making, sound judgment under pressure, and the ability to act with limited information.Successful project management and strategic planning experience with a record of delivering results.Leadership experience managing a team of direct reports.Strong critical-thinking and analytical skills with adaptability to meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.Positive, proactive attitude and ability to work under stress while maintaining professionalism.Ability to perform standard mathematical calculations accurately.Proficiency with Microsoft Office termediate typing skills.Current driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to drive occasionally in the course of duties.Ability to work with minimal supervision.Additional QualificationsMaster’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field preferred.Advanced training in cybersecurity and/or IT infrastructure preferred.Physical Demands & Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform essential functions.
