We are committed to providing the best veterinary care available to animals in DC, Maryland and Virginia.Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership & Medical Oversight:Maintain and enforce the gold-standard of patient care, clinical protocols, and client service.Actively review ER doctor SOAP notes, surgical techniques, diagnostic decisions, treatment plans, and client communication to ensure quality and consistency.Provide constructive feedback and coaching to support ongoing professional development of ER doctors.Departmental CollaborationAttend biweekly ER department manager meetings and contribute to strategic discussions.Collaborate with the ER Director and leadership team to implement new protocols and department initiatives.Medical Advancement & Protocol DevelopmentResearch current best practices and emerging trends in veterinary emergency medicine.Present clinical updates and recommendations to the General Manager and Managing Veterinarian; upon alignment, coordinate with the ER Director to implement updates into practice.Assist in the development, review, and deployment of medical protocols that improve ER flow and treatment outcomes.Mentorship & Team DevelopmentSupport the onboarding and mentorship of new ER doctors, providing guidance and feedback with direction from General Manager, Managing Veterinarian, and Joint Venture Partners.Offer input and support in conducting annual performance evaluations for ER doctors.Client Communication & SupportAssist in resolving client concerns and complaints related to medical care, in collaboration with General Manager and Managing Veterinarian as needed.Scheduling & Administrative DutiesCoordinate and manage the ER DVM holiday schedule to ensure adequate and fair coverage.QualificationsActive veterinary license in good standingMinimum of 5 years of clinical experience in emergency veterinary medicinePrior leadership or management experience preferredStrong communication, mentorship, and organizational skillsCommitment to continuing education and evidence-based medicineCompensationBase salary of $200,000- $250,000Production-based bonusesGenerous sign on bonusBenefitsComprehensive benefits: health, dental, and liability insuranceGenerous CE allowance401k with matchFlexible, predictable, consistent scheduleApply Today!If you’re looking for an opportunity where you can provide excellent care in a supportive, team-oriented environment, Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital is the place for you.
