If you're passionate about making a meaningful impact through your work and contributing to a mission of compassionate care, we invite you to apply today and join our Mercy family.ResponsibilitiesThe Clinical Psychologist will serve as a resource for patients, families, and professionals on psychological issues related to gastrointestinal, pancreatic, or liver diseases, including liver transplantation and obesity-related metabolic diseases.The Clinical Psychologist will assess the patient, provide recommendations, set goals, instruct the patient/family with a plan, and evaluate the success of interventions. The individual will develop individualized and tailored treatment plans for each patient referred.Provides outpatient counseling to individuals with various GI, liver, pancreatic, nutritional and metabolic conditionsResponsible for formulating and updating treatment plansDocuments all interactions, coordinates care, and communicates pertinent information to other team members in a timely mannerWorks with multidisciplinary team members, including gastroenterologists and bariatric surgeons, liver transplant team and dietician and provides evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, case management & psychotherapeutic interventionsParticipate in professional training activities to maintain and advance knowledge baseRequirementsLicensed behavioral health professional (clinical psychologist or neuropsychologist preferred) in the state of MarylandPhD/PsyD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral programCounseling experience: at least three years (flexible)GI experience preferred, but not mandatory.
