Job Description$10,000 Sign-On Bonus to eligible new employees joining UW MedicineUW Medical Center - Montlake's Heart Institute has an outstanding opportunity for an Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Provider (ARNP, Nurse Practitioner; or PA-C, Physician Assistant) providing both inpatient and outpatient services at UWMC.WORK SCHEDULE:Full-time, 100% FTE (40 hours weekly)DaysDEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:The Heart Institute at UW Medical Center – Montlake & SLU provides a full range of heart healthcare and prevention services including general cardiology, cardiac diagnostic imaging tests and procedures, cardiac surgery, arrhythmia management and electrophysiology, interventional cardiology, structural heart services, advanced heart failure management, heart transplant and ventricular assist devices (VADs), adult congenital heart disease management, cardiac psychiatry, cardiovascular genetics and other advanced services.POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:Join a nationally ranked cardiology programBe part of an academic health system committed to innovation and teaching with an opportunity for professional growth and learningLocated steps from UW campus and light rail stationPRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Participate in daily rounds, admission, daily care, discharge of Cardiology E service patients, participate in the inpatient and outpatient EP referral clinics, as well as the ICD and pacemaker device follow up clinicsCollaborate with attending physician, fellows, residents and other APPs to establish patient care plans and outpatient follow-upattend Electrophysiology conferences on Tuesday mornings at 7:30amEncouraged to attend Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery conferences on Wednesday mornings and Cardiology Grand Rounds on Friday mornings and any other conferences of the Electrophysiology SectionSupport the electrophysiology program by arranging appropriate pre-procedure studies, laboratory tests and performing admission history and physical exams when patients are admitted for their procedureAssist in the discharge of these patients following their ablation procedure and provide outpatient follow-up under the direction of the EP attending physicianHelp to maintain the ventricular tachycardia (VT) and atrial fibrillation (AF) ablation program databases.REQUIREMENTS:Master’s Degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursingWashington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner License with prescriptive privilegesLicense to practice as an RN in Washington StateNational certification as a Nurse PractitionerBLS certificationORLicensure as a Physician’s Assistant in the State of WashingtonNational certification from a national certifying body (NCCPA)Applicant must be eligible to receive hospital staff appointments for adjunct staff membership by the Organized Medial Staff of the hospital under Medical Staff By-Laws for hospital-based positionsBLS certificationABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKEUW Medical Center is an acute care academic medical center located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
