Responsibilities The Executive Director (Registered Nurse, RN) in Hospice supervises all aspects of patient care, all activities of professional staff and allied health personnel, regulatory requirements compliance, financial performance, and quality assurance/performance improvement activities for the agency. The Executive Director or alternate will be available on-site during business hours and if needed. Ensure compliance with all regulations, laws, policies, and procedures applicable to hospice and Medicare/Medicaid. Be immediately available (or have an Alternate Designee) to be on-site during business hours or available by telephone when off-site; available after hours as needed. Direct the daily operations of the agency and act as the Care Management Process driver. The ED or designee RN (e.g., Patient Care Manager) will receive daily patient reports, review patient care paperwork, referrals, recertifications, discharge information, and event reporting. Review monthly financial results to ensure quality patient care is delivered cost-effectively. Participate in QAPI planning, reporting, and improvement action plans, including chart audits, patient satisfaction, financials, contracts, patient/family complaints, and follow-up. Education and Experience Must be a licensed physician; licensed registered nurse; licensed social worker; or a Bachelor's degree with at least three (3) years of experience in the discipline and a minimum of one (1) year in a hospice, home health, or health care delivery system setting. Three (3) years of health care leadership preferred. Current CPR certification required for Executive Directors who may provide services to patients in the field.
