OverviewNurse Educator - Critical Care Departments at Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center in Mission Viejo, CA. The Nurse Educator is a professional nurse with advanced clinical, leadership, and staff development knowledge and skills. This role supports the professional and clinical development of bedside nurses, empowering staff through knowledge to deliver evidence-based nursing care. Responsibilities include assessing learning needs and developing, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs in collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams. The Nurse Educator facilitates competency validation from orientation through advanced practice, collaborates with leadership to ensure regulatory compliance through education and competency validation, participates in strategic planning, leads projects related to staff development, and acts as a consultant to committees by recommending improvements to policies, procedures, and programs. The role supports integration of research into practice and serves as a resource and mentor to staff. Your voice matters here as we empower our team. Responsibilities Assess learning needs and develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Facilitate competency validation across all levels of staff development, from orientation to advanced practice. Collaborate with leadership to ensure regulatory compliance through education and competency validation. Participate in strategic planning to achieve outcomes and lead staff development projects. Act as a consultant to committees and teams; contribute to improvement of patient care through policy, procedure, and program development or revision. Support integration of research into clinical practice; serve as a resource and mentor to staff. Required qualifications Master's degree in Nursing; or degree in progress to be completed within 2 years. California Registered Nurse License upon hire. National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. 3 years' clinical experience in area(s) of specialization. Preferred qualifications Certification in clinical specialty, Nursing Professional Development, or Nursing Education upon hire. 1 year of staff development experience. Experience with simulation in healthcare. Experience with interactive, case-based online teaching/learning methods. Experience with both knowledge- and skills-based competency validation. Experience with outcomes measurement to evaluate effectiveness of education. Why Join Providence?
