Overview Director of Commercial Middle Markets Underwriting – Oliver James Job Vacancy: Director of Property & Casualty – Mid-Market – North Carolina We are delighted to act as a recruitment partner for one of the leading names in the Insurance industry, helping them find a high-caliber candidate for their underwriting department. Responsibilities Lead the underwriting strategies for the Property and Casualty segments, focusing on the mid-market range ($50,000 – $500,000). Manage relationships with retail brokers to ensure smooth acquisition and retention of clients. Oversee the primary first layer of coverage in the Admitted market, ensuring compliance with government regulations and company standards. Develop and implement innovative solutions to underwriting challenges faced in the U.S. domestic mid-market. Ensure the profitability and growth of the portfolio by making data-driven decisions and adopting market-leading tactics. Key Skills / Qualifications Proven expertise as an underwriter in the Property and Casualty insurance space, ideally within the mid-market segment. Strong ability to build and maintain relationships with retail brokers. Solid understanding of the regulatory framework governing the Admitted markets. Excellent analytical skills to assess risks and make decisions that enhance portfolio health. Exceptional leadership capabilities and the ability to motivate and guide a team.
