OverviewProgram DirectorThe Program Director will ensure that the facility operates in accordance with the guidelines identified by the N.Y.S. Office of Temporary Assistance (O.T.D.A.), the N.Y.C. Department of Homeless Services (D.H.S.), and H.O.G.A.R.ResponsibilitiesSupervise the program's multi-disciplinary team, including Social Service Supervisors, Housing Coordinators, Case Managers, and Administrative Assistants.Coordinate services provided by Employment Specialists to ensure an integrated service plan to address the needs of each.Shelter and the primary goals of the transitional housing program.Provide coaching, training, and staff development under H.O.G.A.R.'s policies and procedures. Ensure new staff is provided so that they become quickly familiar with program procedures and goals.Champion and model the use of Evidence-Based Practices (E.B.P.), promote Trauma Informed Care (T.I.C.), and Motivational Interviewing (MI).Model the use of E.B.P. for staff and peers.Train and support staff in using E.B.P. with clients and use E.B.P. to meet and exceed program goals.Ensure all staff receive timely and quality performance evaluations under Win's personnel policies and procedures.Establish linkages with appropriate community agencies for services required by shelter, including medical, mental health, substance abuse, and other stakeholders working with H.O.G.A.R.'s clients.Monitor the program's effectiveness in reaching the goals of permanent housing, securing clients' employment, and establishing family stability.Analyze, develop, and implement procedures and policies to ensure quality service provision.Assure a safe and healthy environment by participating in the overall security and maintenance of the program in accordance with regulatory guidelines and H.O.G.A.R.'s policies. Co-authorize purchase orders and ensure all expenditures comply with H.O.G.A.R.'s procurement policies and procedures.Manage the program's petty cash and program metro cards to ensure compliance with H.O.G.A.R.'s policies.Participate in local community organizations, attend Community Board meetings in the shelter's district, and liaise with community members.Represent the agency at meetings, conferences, and public hearings to gain and share information relevant to the program's operation.Establish a Community Advisory Board of staff, transitional housing, and community members, including N.Y.P.D. and local representatives, to meet quarterly.Participate in staff interviewing and hiring process.Perform other related duties as needed.Essential FunctionsMust be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Must be able to ascend/descend stairs in the building assigned.Must be able to travel to offsite meetings and training throughout New York City.QualificationsMust commit to H.O.G.A.R.'s mission, vision, and values.M.P.H., M.S.W., or M.A. in Health/ Social Services.Must have at least five (5) years of experience in the human services sector, including three (3) years in a supervisory role responsible for managing budgets and staff.Must be familiar with E.B.P., MI, and T.I.C.Able to manage boundary setting and cultural reflexivity.Able to provide outstanding customer service to clients and other stakeholders.Able to maintain composure in stressful situations.Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, written and verbal.Must interact effectively with all clients and staff in residence.Knowledge of CARES is a plus.Solid computer skills, knowledge of MS Office and Outlook a plus.Must be willing and able to be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus.Required Time on Project1 FTE Project Director35 hours weekly (may include a Saturday and Sunday)On call 24/07 #J-18808-Ljbffr
