OverviewThe Vice President, General Manager is responsible for providing leadership for the assigned local market. This role focuses on driving market performance, strengthening community and government relationships, and overseeing technical operations to ensure service reliability and operational excellence. The VP will serve as a key representative of the company in the local market and will report directly to the President, General Manager for the Region. This position is located in Texas and may require relocation to the Austin/San Marcos, Dallas, or Houston area. Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight for the assigned market, ensuring operational alignment with region and corporate goals. Support regional financial performance through targeted initiatives focused on revenue growth, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Collaborate with regional leadership and corporate strategy teams to implement business plans tailored to local market dynamics. Monitor local market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to inform tactical decisions. Represent the company in local and regional government affairs, maintaining strong relationships with elected officials, regulatory bodies, and industry associations. Lead as a visible community leader, fostering partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders. Oversee operations within the market, ensuring infrastructure reliability, service quality, and operational efficiency. Partner with engineering and network operations teams to implement upgrades, resolve issues, and maintain service standards. Lead and monitor technical performance metrics and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with technical and safety regulations and standards. Lead and manage local sales and service teams in achieving performance goals and delivering a superior customer service experience. Act as a point of escalation for significant customer issues and ensure timely resolution. Facilitate communication between local teams and corporate leadership to ensure alignment and transparency. Champion community engagement initiatives and represent the company at public events and forums. Support employee development and retention through coaching, mentoring, and recognition. Actively support, promote, and advance all aspects of inclusion and belonging work, creating a work environment where all employees feel valued, respected, heard and empowered. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, or related field required. Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior operational, sales, or technical role within telecommunications or a related industry. Experience working with government entities and community organizations preferred. Experience overseeing technical operations or infrastructure in a service-oriented environment preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong understanding of local market dynamics, technical operations, and regulatory environments. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with government officials and community leaders. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive results through influence and collaboration. Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging workplace culture. Residency within or willingness to relocate to the assigned market. Compensation & Benefits Base Compensation: The base salary range for this position is $280,000-$400,000 annually plus opportunities for bonus and benefits. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job.
