Those who succeed at Highmark will do so because they enjoy an empowered, challenging, fulfilling, and financially rewarding workplace!Why we need you:The Risk and Claims Manager oversees and facilitates all property, casualty, general liability, and worker's compensation claims processing, and proactively identifies risk exposures and initiates/updates company policies and practices to mitigate those risks.What Highmark can do for YOU:Help you achieve your goals by continuous professional development and regular career progression sessionsCompetitive pay for the marketMonthly bonus opportunities for all site associates30% associate rent discountMedical, Dental & Vision benefits the 1 st of the month following 30 days of full-time employmentCompany-provided life insurance, short term and long term disability coverageFlexible Spending accounts401(k) eligibility after 90 days, with 4% Highmark matchProfessional Certification & Tuition reimbursementVacation, Sick and Personal Time off available to use after 90 days10 paid holidaysPaid parental leaveResponsibilitiesEssential functions include (but are not limited to):Oversee the proper reporting of all claims to the appropriate insurance carriers and/or ownersOversee and manage workers’ compensation program and claims, including proper OSHA incident reportingNotify properties of changes in insurance carriers, procedures and Workers Comp medical facilitiesOversee and manage the Safety program including all monthly education, property and equipment inspectionsMaintain and keep current the Safety Manual and related Safety required documentsCollaborate with Operations Dept. on new safety program rolloutsDevelop and implement loss control programs and procedures in collaboration with Operations Dept to to minimize liability, enhance resident and employee safety, and safeguard assets across all apartment communities.Maintain and keep current the Insurance Carrier, Broker, Owner information for fee-managed propertiesEnsure that claims files and records are maintained and savedAssist adjusters with claim investigations, all insurance linesAct as a liaison between properties, adjusters, and insurance companiesCollaborate with the Legal department in defense of legal claimsCoordinate the collection of documents and records for response to litigationProvide quarterly wage reporting to Lockton for estimated variance in Workers' Comp premium for budgeting purposesComplete annual insurance applications and coordinate the collection of necessary information for annual insurance renewalsReview contracts and agreements as neededNotify carriers and brokers of any property additions or deletionsManage vendor insurance credentialing program in collaboration with Operations and Accounting Depts.Ensure completion and distribution of annual OSHA 300 reportingStay abreast of all State, Federal, and OSHA regulations to ensure company complianceComply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Safety ManualAssist with special projects as neededQualificationsQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant work & education5+ years of property/workers compensation insurance claims management experience2+ years supervisory experienceProfessional presentation and communication skills, verbal and writtenAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, including C-SuiteAverage proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and WordExcellent organizational, planning, analytical and problem-solving skillsYARDI/onsite property knowledge a plusCertification: ARM certification preferredPhysical Requirements:Occasional walking of properties for risk audit purposesTravel by automobile or airplaneFrequent writing and typing on computer, utilize copierOccasional lifting of file boxes, up to 25 lbs.Must have normal range of speech, vision and hearing#CORPReq.
