In this role, you will oversee all aspects of claims handling, guiding strategy, ensuring operational excellence, and lead a talented team to deliver exceptional claims management. As an integral part of our claims leadership team, you’ll help shape direction and drive results that make a meaningful impact. This position reports directly to the SVP of Claims.Strong working relationships are a key component of RSUI’s team-oriented, high-performance culture. Our specialized area of industry focus requires real-time, in-person collaboration that fosters meaningful dialogue and strengthens overall performance. Team meetings, employee events, and other work obligations also often require an in-person presence. This position will work RSUI’s hybrid schedule, which requires three days weekly in the office.Responsibilities:Oversee and manage the property claims unit, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.Coach, train, develop, and motivate team members with varying levels of experience. Provide actionable feedback to team members.Collaborate with and participate in strategic planning with SVP.Provide senior leadership with regular reporting on claim trends.Manage a minimal number of the most complex, high exposure E&S commercial property claims files in addition to broader management responsibilities.Analyze complex coverage issues, determine exposures, and ensure that claims estimates are accurate, adequate, and aligned with reserve estimates.Work effectively with senior management, underwriters, attorneys, corporate insureds, producers and other industry stakeholders.Lead the valuation and reporting on all CAT related claims and exposures as they arise, particularly during storm season.Collaborate with the property underwriting team on form development, manuscript revisions, trend analysis, and other initiatives.Analyze and provide support on reinsurance matters as needed.Participate in settlement conferences, mediations, and trials as required.Seek opportunities to continuously improve and simplify processes, be proactive on anticipating trends, potential pitfalls and risk that could present with significant exposure.Keep abreast of industry trends, changes in regulations, and technology advancements in claims management.May perform other related tasks as assigned, depending on business need.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree preferred (an advanced degree is a plus) or equivalent multi-line, multi-jurisdictional claims handling experience.Adjusting license required.A minimum of 15 years of claims experience, with significant E&S commercial property claims management experience at a leading P&C insurer.At least 8 years of managerial experience.
