OverviewDirector of Business Development, Aerospace & Defense – ARCO Design/Build. Lead strategic growth initiatives in the aerospace and defense sectors, identify opportunities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and drive revenue growth by aligning design-build solutions with the needs of top-tier defense contractors, suppliers, and government agencies. Requires deep understanding of the aerospace and defense markets, including DoD acquisition processes. This role can be located in Raleigh, Richmond, Baltimore, or Philadelphia.We are ARCO, a Family of Construction Companies. We are proud to be consistently recognized as a Best Place to Work and offer a compensation and benefits package that supports associates, their families, and local communities.ResponsibilitiesMarket Strategy: Develop and execute business development strategies targeting U.S. DoD programs, prime contractors, and Tier 1/2 suppliers.Opportunity Identification: Monitor market trends, analyze customer needs, and identify high-value opportunities in air, sea, ground, and space domains.Customer Engagement: Build relationships with senior decision-makers at DoD agencies and defense primes to position ARCO as a preferred partner.Capture Management: Oversee proposal development, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning for major pursuits exceeding $10M.Consultative Approach: Identify customer needs, establish trust, customize solutions through dialogue and active listening, and guide the sales conversation.Collaboration: Partner with internal teams to align offerings with customer requirements and ensure successful project working: Represent ARCO at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance market presence and establish subject-matter pliance: Ensure adherence to FAR and other relevant policies.Necessary QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.Over 10 years of experience in business development within the aerospace and defense industries.Proven track record of securing large contracts with the DoD or prime prehensive knowledge of federal budgeting processes (PPBE), DoD procurement procedures, and government contracting.Strong communication skills for engaging effectively with C-level executives and government novative thinker who seeks new solutions and improvements; goal-oriented and bold in driving results.Visionary leader who inspires others with enthusiasm and a clear vision.Preference for flexibility and independence from rigid rules and controls.Active or recent Secret/Top Secret security clearance is preferred.Make Your Move & BenefitsIndustry-leading performance-based bonus programEmployee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP)Traditional and Roth 401kTuition reimbursement for associatesScholarship for associates’ children up to $28,000 per child1-month paid sabbatical after every five years of employment, plus $5,000 for travel15 business days of PTO + 8 paid holidays + 1 floating day1-week paid volunteer leave per yearFamily planning support12 weeks of paid maternity leaveMedical, dental, and vision insuranceEqual Opportunity Employer: ARCO is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace.
