Overview Description Make an impact on a growing family-owned business as you build out best-in-class practices for demand planning, purchasing, master planning, production scheduling, inventory, and logistics for our multi-site HVAC manufacturing. About the Company Cambridge Air Solutions (Cambridge) is a 60-year-old, family-owned HVAC manufacturing company committed to enriching lives. This role reports to the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and will own purchasing, master planning and production scheduling across multiple sites, while aligning corporate standards, policies, and KPIs for inventory and logistics. The position includes oversight of a small purchasing and master planning team and dotted line accountability for the resource planning team at each location. Location: Chesterfield, Missouri. Key Responsibilities COMPANY-WIDE SUPPLY CHAIN EXCELLENCE – Develop a demand planning and forecasting function; oversee purchasing, master planning and production scheduling. Establish policies and KPIs, manage departmental budget, and provide short- and long-term forecasting aligned to strategic and financial goals. LEAD + INSPIRE A HIGH-PERFORMING TEAM – Lead two buyers and one master planner with dotted line accountability for site-based planning staff; drive accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration. BUILD DEMAND PLANNING FUNCTION – Build demand forecasts using sales data, market intelligence, and models; ensure cross-functional collaboration with sales, operations, finance, and production; provide visibility and insights to leadership. ESTABLISH BEST PURCHASING PRACTICES: STRATEGIC SOURCING + SUPPLIER MANAGEMENT – Define procurement and contracts processes; develop supplier tools and vendor criteria; lead negotiations and foster lean initiatives to reduce costs. OVERSEE MASTER PLANNING & PRODUCTION SCHEDULING – Translate forecasts into a master production schedule; support ERP build-out; plan using real-time data; partner with plant leadership to meet targets. ESTABLISH BEST PRACTICES: INVENTORY + LOGISTICS – Set corporate standards for inventory and logistics; move toward ERP-driven predictive models; optimize warehouse usage and inter-company shipments. SUPPORT NEW PRODUCT EXPANSION – Collaborate on supplier base expansion for new products; develop business cases and sourcing strategies; standardize sourcing and contracts management processes. Qualifications You have 7–10+ years of progressive purchasing, master planning, production scheduling, inventory, logistics and people leadership experience, with lean and continuous improvement exposure. Experience with a broad base of industrial components and engineered-to-order products; familiarity with steel, valves, and electrical control purchasing strategies is a plus. Hands-on operational leader able to balance strategic and tactical priorities; experience in both large and small production facilities. Strong business acumen with collaborative negotiation skills; tech-savvy with knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Epicor, SAP, Oracle) and track record of optimizing these systems. Understanding of environmental health and safety systems, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation; experience championing safety initiatives. Curious mindset with interest in best practices and AI/innovation. Four-year college degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or related field required; MBA or certifications are a plus. Why Join Us?
