The Sr. AVP, Insurance Placement is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and analyzing risks inherent to the operations of the company and its affiliates and ultimately reducing the firm’s cost of risk. This individual will identify and evaluate risk exposures and administer the risk management programs, staying informed of changes within the company and recommending/ executing changes as appropriate. They will track and review all insurance policies held by the company and support renewal processes annually.How You Add ValueCreate robust Liability and Casualty Insurance programs and allocations across multiple asset classes.Create, refine, and implement processes around budgeting, invoicing, market updates, and renewal communications.Understand and manage the actuarial modeling results provided by external partners.Develop strong working relationships with management and internal customers at each property to communicate casualty insurance standards.Establish yourself as the casualty and liability resource and educate Portfolio Companies on various insurance coverages and risk mitigation opportunities.Implement, administer, and monitor risk management techniques/strategies to efficiently and cost-effectively manage risks (e.g., captives, risk transfer, risk mitigation/loss control, risk avoidance, retention, etc.).Regularly review liability insurance programs for enhancements and work with brokers to create cost savings teract with risk team, brokers, RMIS vendors and insurers to communicate risk-related goals and objectives.Coordinate issuance and distribution of Certificates of Insurance and evaluate certificates for contractual requirements.Collect and manage exposure information for a large real estate portfolio using RMIS; develop meaningful reports across Portfolio Companies.Educate, advise, and counsel company management, staff and partners to reduce or transfer risks.Review insurance binders, invoices, and policies for accuracy and manage policy retention documentation.Participate in risk management educational programs to stay abreast of emerging issues.Perform other duties as assigned.What You Bring To The RoleBachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field required.10+ years of risk experience.Advanced degree or industry designations (CIC, ARM, CPCU, etc.) preferred.Property & Casualty Broker’s License surance expertise with focus on General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Auto Liability, Workers Compensation, and Management Liability.Knowledge of various real estate sectors and related processes.Strong interpersonal skills, relationship-building, and communication skills (verbal & written).Proficient in Microsoft Excel; excellent numerical, presentation, and organizational abilities.Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment with strong time-management and prioritization skills.Willingness to travel ~15% pensation and BenefitsBase Compensation Range: $148,434.00 to $217,618.00 annually. This range represents the currently anticipated low to high end and may vary by location and experience. Total Direct Compensation includes discretionary bonus and incentive compensation annually. Benefits include health insurance, retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off.
