Learn more at and scopeReporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), this newly defined role serves as a key member of the senior operations leadership team. The position owns all purchasing, master planning and production scheduling functions across a multi-site operation and ensures consistency and alignment in corporate standards, policies, and KPI’s for inventory and logistics. Oversees a small purchasing and master planning team with dotted line accountability over resource planning at each location to support strategic growth and supply chain excellence.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCOMPANY-WIDE SUPPLY CHAIN EXCELLENCE – Develop a demand planning and forecasting function while overseeing purchasing, master planning and production scheduling. Identify and implement best practices, set corporate standards, create policies and establish KPI’s to improve efficiency. Manage departmental budget and short- and long-term forecasting aligned with strategic and financial goals.LEAD + INSPIRE A HIGH-PERFORMING TEAM – Lead two buyers and one master planner with dotted line accountability for site resources. Build an effective team structure to support growth and foster continuous improvement and collaboration.BUILD DEMAND PLANNING FUNCTION – Develop demand forecasts using sales data, market intelligence and statistical models. Collaborate with sales, operations, finance and production to ensure forecasting accuracy and cross-functional alignment.ESTABLISH BEST PURCHASING PRACTICES – Define procurement and contracts management practices. Develop supplier management tools, drive cost optimization, and lead supplier negotiations in line with company values.OVERSEE MASTER PLANNING & PRODUCTION SCHEDULING – Translate demand into a master production schedule and support ERP build-out. Create detailed schedules using real-time data and partner with plant leadership.ESTABLISH BEST PRACTICES: INVENTORY + LOGISTICS – Set corporate standards and KPIs for inventory and logistics. Evolve to ERP-driven predictive models and optimize inter-company shipments and warehouse use.SUPPORT NEW PRODUCT EXPANSION – Build supplier bases for new products, develop business cases and sourcing strategies, and standardize procurement processes for inbound supply chain.IS THIS A MATCH FOR YOU?You have 7-10+ years of progressive purchasing, master planning, production scheduling, inventory, logistics and people leadership experience, including embedding lean and continuous improvement principles into supply chain systems.Experience across a broad base of industrial components and engineered-to-order products; familiarity with steel, valves, and electrical control purchasing strategies is a plus.You are hands-on and able to balance strategic and tactical priorities; prior experience in both large and small production facilities is desirable.You bring strong business acumen, collaborative negotiation skills, and tech-savviness with knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, Oracle, etc.).You understand environmental health and safety systems, compliance and risk mitigation; a commitment to safety and experience with preventative and corrective actions.You are inquisitive, curious, and interested in AI and innovation.A four-year college degree in supply chain management, business, engineering or related field is required.
