George Washington's Mount Vernon – Retail Warehouse ManagerOverviewThe Retail Warehouse Manager oversees daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, allocation, and distribution of products and supplies. This role ensures efficient processes, accurate inventory management, and the safety and security of staff and assets at the Mount Vernon CCVC Retail pensation$65,000-$75,000 commensurate with experienceHours40 hours/weekResponsibilitiesTeam LeadershipManage, schedule, and train the Warehouse and Shops Stock Team, fostering a positive, high-performance environment.Provide coaching, feedback, and accountability for:Warehouse SupervisorReceiving ClerksShops Stock SupervisorShops Stock ClerksWarehouse OperationsOversee receipt, storage, and allocation of incoming products and packages.Process receivers as shipments arrive and communicate with buyers as needed.Designate areas for receiving, processing, staging, and storage.Plan for off-season storage and large-quantity product deliveries.Monitor space allocation and alert the Director to any ventory ManagementEnsure accuracy of warehouse and shop stockroom inventory.Review and verify inventory actions; submit adjustments to the Director for approval.Monitor stock levels at warehouse and shops; generate transfers to Shops and E-Commerce pliance & Secure HandlingEnsure proper handling, secure storage, and distribution of Mount Vernon Distillery whiskey and Gristmill products.Logistics & DeliveriesEnsure accurate and timely daily delivery and pick-up of USPS and UPS mail and packages throughout the estate.Audits & AccuracyAssist with annual inventories and conduct random warehouse counts to ensure accuracy.Supplies ManagementOrder warehouse and retail supplies as needed.Other DutiesPerform additional responsibilities as assigned.Performance ExpectationsInventory Accuracy: Maintain 98% or higher accuracy across warehouse and shop stockrooms.Receiving Efficiency: Process and stage incoming shipments within 24 hours of delivery.Transfer Timeliness: Complete shop and e-commerce stock transfers within 1 business day of pliance & Safety: Maintain zero OSHA violations and ensure 100% compliance with alcohol-handling protocols.Mail & Package Delivery: Ensure daily USPS/UPS mail and package deliveries and pick-ups are completed on schedule.Team Development: Provide regular training and coaching; ensure annual performance reviews are completed for all direct reports.Operational Excellence: Consistently meet deadlines for annual inventory counts and random spot checks, with less than 2% variance.Qualifications5–8 years of warehouse management experience; retail warehouse experience strongly preferred.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time, multitask, and maintain a high level of accuracy and detail. Proficiency in warehouse or inventory management software required; Counterpoint or Cin7 IMS experience preferred.Ability to work efficiently, independently, and collaboratively with team members.Excellent communication, motivation, and coaching skills.Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.Ability to be trained and certified to operate an electric pallet jack and skid lift.Valid driver’s license required.Position requires standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, and regular physical activity.Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a warehouse or e-commerce fulfillment setting. The environment can be fast-paced, with exposure to moving equipment, shelving, and frequent handling of merchandise. Noise levels are moderate, and temperatures may vary depending on the season and building conditions.Physical RequirementsEmployees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions such as picking, packing, and scanning. The role requires bending, reaching, climbing ladders, and operating carts or pallet jacks.
